Strictly necessary · Always on Remembers your cookie choice, opens the signup step with your email address already filled in if you come back to it, and protects our forms from spam. Stored: __biocompile_consent (local storage, kept until you change or clear it; we ask again after 6 months) and __biocompile_handoff (session storage: the email address you entered in the signup step, written only once you submit that step and discarded when you close the tab). On pages with a contact or pilot form, Cloudflare Turnstile loads when the page opens and issues a short-lived token.
Analytics Shows us which pages actually help and where readers get stuck, so we can fix what is unclear and build what scientists really need. We measure which pages are opened and how far they are read, which of our buttons are clicked and how fast pages load. With your consent we also record screen and window size, device type, browser language, time zone, the full browser identification string, and where on a page people click and scroll. Provider: PostHog, Frankfurt, Germany. Stored so one visit counts as one visit: ph_…_posthog as a cookie (1 year) and in local storage (no expiry, removed when you withdraw), plus session storage entries for the visit.
